During the state’s ongoing wildfires and public safety power shutoffs, we want to assure you that we continue to work with regional centers to ensure that the individuals we serve are safe throughout these emergencies.
Governor Gavin Newsom and the California Health and Human Services Agency (CHHS) have launched websites to provide information and access to services for Californians during this time.
The Governor’s website, RESPONSE.CA.GOV, combines emergency response, recovery and resilience information into a single place for easy access by users. It is a one-stop portal that includes local and state resources, health services, shelters and housing, preparedness information, and more.
The CHHS Resource Guide includes a nonemergency hotline to help medically vulnerable Californians and health and community care facilities find resources in their communities during power shutoffs. The hotline is (833) 284-3473.
We want to remind you that during any emergency, regional center consumers, and their families, who need assistance can contact their service coordinator or call their regional center’s main phone number for assistance. Regional centers all have an emergency response system that is operational 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Find your local regional center on the DDS website. For life-threatening emergencies, please call 911.
As always, we appreciate your partnership and efforts to help ensure the individuals we serve are safe, healthy and happy.
