CARI is a statewide nonprofit program whose mission is to create employment opportunities for people with disabilities by securing government contracts through the Welfare and Institution Code 19404 (WIC) for its network of community-based nonprofit agencies.
Providing employment opportunities to thousands of people with disabilities, CARI is the single largest source of employment for persons with disabilities in the State of California. More than 100 participating organizations employ these individuals and provide quality goods and services to government agencies at a fair price.
The CARI Program is a coordinated effort by the rehabilitation community, the California State Legislature and a consortium of government agencies to employ persons with disabilities. This effort has allowed people with disabilities to acquire job skills and training, receive wages and benefits and gain greater independence and quality of life. Through CARI, people with disabilities have the opportunity to enjoy participation in their communities and can market their job skills into other public and private sector jobs.
Headquartered in Sacramento, CARI offers a wide variety of services to include; marketing and sales support, customer service and quality assurance support, contract development and management, regulatory and compliance assistance, communications and public relations expertise and extensive training and education.
