The mission of the California Disability Services Association is to advocate for and strengthen member organizations and to ensure public and government support of services for persons with disabilities.
Background Information —
For more than 40 years, California Disability Services Association (CDSA) has been the voice of developmental disability professionals in California. We represent nearly 100 community-based programs and some 10,000 professionals whose common purpose is to improve the lives and opportunities for people with disabilities.
Every day, CDSA is at the center of the struggle—for civil rights, for access to work, and for understanding and tolerance. Our remarkable members work day and night to provide much needed housing, transportation, rehabilitation, meals, and employment opportunities for individuals with developmental disabilities.
Our government affairs team constantly monitors state activity to ensure our issues are front-and-center in Sacramento. We provide our members with up-to-date information, access to resources and leaders in the field, and facilitate member networking opportunities through regional events and educational programs.
Because of our members’ tireless commitment, people with disabilities can live independent, fulfilling lives in their communities, close to family and friends.
