Non Profit Agencies      

The following criteria must be met in order for a Community Rehabilitation Program (CRP) to be eligible for, obtain, and/or retain work contracts from CARI:

 

Abide by the terms and conditions as set forth in the California Welfare and Institutions Code (WIC) Sections 19403 and 19404.

 

The organization is a California non-profit corporation serving people with disabilities.

Ensure that at least two directors are or serve Californians with disabilities.

 

Demonstrate ability to accurately and appropriately cost and price commodities and services.

 

Avoid contracting practices that constitute unfair competition.

 

Ensure that individuals with disabilities are employed for not less than 75% of direct labor hours required for the production of services or commodities produced by the organization.

Demonstrate compliance with all applicable U.S. Department of Labor and State Industrial Relations Department Regulations.

 

Demonstrate ability to deliver commodities/services in accordance with established time lines.

 

Demonstrate active and ongoing quality control measures for all commodities/services.

Currently has adequate staff, space and financial reserves, or can identify staff, space, and financial reserve resources, in order to perform potential contract work in a timely and efficient manner.

 

Hold and maintain certification by the State Department of Rehabilitation; and/or hold and maintain accreditation by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) in appropriate program areas, (e.g., work services, program in industry/supported employment, personal and social adjustment (formerly work activity) if real work is used in conjunction with PSA, etc.); and/or be appropriately vendorized by a Regional Center; and/or be certified as a workcenter by the U.S. Department of Labor.

 

Hold appropriate licenses and/or certifications.

 

Organization has at least $1 million of general liability and property damage insurance and adequate state mandated insurance.

 

Organization is agreeable to CARI contract terms, including management fees.

 

Organization agrees to periodic on-site verification of all criteria by CARI staff or designee.
