FMAP - California delegation voting record
The passage of the FMAP extension is good news for California in general and certainly good news for people with developmental disabilities who were otherwise facing enormous pressure for additional budget cuts had Congress not granted a 6-month extension of enhances federal matching funds for Medicaid expenditures.
You all engaged in meaningful grassroots efforts on this important legislation. It made a difference! In the end, all Democrats including the blue dogs voted YES.
Now is a good time for a brief letter, thanking your member if they voted YES and expressing disappointment if they voted NO. A “not voting” is the same as a NO vote, but the reason someone doesn’t vote could be as simple as they were out sick! I wouldn’t say anything to those folks directly about their vote unless we find out something directly. Rather, if it is your member you can say “I am very pleased that this important measure passed. Although I note that you were not able to vote in favor of the bill, I hope you recognize how important its passage is to people with developmental disabilities”. See what you get back.
